I only saw one major scene, and my thoughts were:
(a) a gentleman would never demand money from a lady.
(b) if they will use poker instead of chemin-de-fer, they should have a scriptwriter who understands betting. What I saw was the betting equivalent of a blind oaf falling over a doorstep.
(c) the whole heart attack thing was overdoing it; in the book he didn't even _get_ shot.
Then again, it seemed fun as a pure action thriller, and the not-quite-poker irritated me less than the not-quite-fencing!
