In a fit of silliness, I have sewn a large 2" bell to a wide piece of ribbon, and am wearing it around my neck and bouncing around and pretending to be a kitten. It's quite fun.

Florian, our Bavarian housemate, said "You see people here associate bells with cats. When I think 'bell', I think 'cow'."

Today, after a relaxing weekend and a milestone reached at work, I expected my stress levels to be somewhat lower than they have been recently. Instead, the day has been punctuated by a list of people and companies I want killed. I wish I had a printer here, so that I could write a great many most strongly worded letters of complaint.

One of the biggest contradictions in the Babylon 5 universe is that in series 1, episode 17, "Legacies", Sinclair beats up Neroon. That is to say, a noncombatant human officer beats a minbari warlord in hand to hand combat, when later in series 3 episode 19 "Grey 17 is Missing", Neroon almost kills Marcus, a trained ranger.

I do not know why I am thinking this. Probably because I am tired and I don't want to think about anything else.

I have 4 data points, and a list of pair-wise distances between the points. I want to produce a visual plot of the distances between the points. Since I need to do this in 2 dimensions, and the figure generated is a 3-dimensional irregular tetrahedron, I need an approximation. Does anybody know of a suitable package or algorithm? I suspect such a package would use either using spring-approximation, or direct computation, I don't mind. I'd like a pretty picture as output for a customer.
