When I was young, strawberries were lumpy, cucumbers were curly, and so forth. Europe, of course, abolished all this nonsense, and cucumbers were straightened, carrots became fruit, and notably, strawberries became square. (Cue many jokes about reclassifying them as cattle so the shipping density can be increased.) In any case, a few things survived all this silliness for another 15 years or so, but I was horrified when I went into Sainsbury's, and saw that strawberry trifles, fundamentally circular objects, are now also square in Europe.

Or perhaps they're cattle.
