Today's Hansard:

Lord Brabazon says, "The possible use of cats, respectable or otherwise, to control the rodent population in the Palace of Westminster has been considered and rejected on a number of practical grounds."

He goes on to make a number of highly amusing statements; all of which suggest that he has never interacted with a cat, or read the history of the black plague.

My Hansard-fu is letting me down. I can find the written response to the question, but I can't find the minutes of the ensuing debate, which was even funnier.
