I eventually keeled over on a scratchy blanket in someone else's house in North London. The bed wasn't made, but I didn't have the energy for that, never mind moving my kit inside from the boot of the car.

After a couple of false starts, I wake up around 11 and start with a bath, a phone meeting and some leftover code before thinking about breakfast. My suitcase is elsewhere, but luck runs with me - I have a set of clean clothes from yesterday and can emerge!

Someone else has been here while I was asleep. A note in the kitchen says "back ca 1800". I'm still quite dizzy, so I eat whatever I can find: breakfast consists of halva, black bread, and apple juice, in that order. Gordon Brown apologises, by proxy of the newsreader, for a great many things, so I turn the radio off.

I'm still a bit dizzy from lack of everything, so perhaps more news after I've found some more coherent food.
